Welcome to Lexington

Lexington, the largest town in Lexington County and a suburb of Columbia, is considered the fastest-growing area in the Greater Midlands Area. Lexington dates back to the Colonial Period and has 22 buildings that are on the National Register of Historic Places. The creation of Lake Murray in 1920 contributed significantly to the growth of the area. Today, Lake Murray offers over 500 miles of shoreline and excellent boating and fishing. The City of Lexington has six very well-maintained parks that offer picnic shelters, sporting facilities, and dog parks. It is also the home of the Icehouse Amphitheater, named for an ice factory which opened on the property in 1928 and produced 300-pound blocks of ice. Now, the Icehouse offers free family night concerts on Thursdays, paid concerts, and a Saturday Farmers and Artisans Market. Lexington also has its own minor league baseball team, the Blowfish.

Lakeview Terrace

Lakeview Terrace is an established community off of US 1 with access to both I-26 and I-20. Typically, these homes are all brick, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and were built in the 1960s. This is a very stable neighborhood, and homes do not come on the market often. In the past 2 years, the homes sold have ranged from $190,000 to $200,000.

Maple Way

Maple Way is a newer construction neighborhood developed in 2020 by Great Southern Homes. Just off Highway 1, it has good access to I-20 and is in Lexington County School District One. The latest resale was a 2008 SF home which sold for $283,000.

Ashton Lakes

Ashton Lakes is a new construction community in Red Bank, a growing area within the City Limits of Lexington. It has easy access to I-20. Homes range from 1,400 to over 3,000 SF, and prices start in the mid $200,000s and go up to the high $300,000s.

Timberland Place

Timberland Place is an established community with mature landscaping, and most homes were built between 2003 and 2007. Timberland Place has good access to I-20 and I-26 and is in Lexington School District One. In the past 2 years, 13 homes have sold with an average price of $256,500.

Brookshire Estates

While there are a few small homes in Brookshire Estates, most homes are 2,400 to 3,000+ square feet. Brookshire has excellent access to I-20 and is on the Columbia side of Lexington, making Downtown Columbia very accessible. Six homes have sold in the past two years. The highest price was $467,000, and the average was $330,000.
 

Willow Creek Estates

Willow Creek Estates is a community of larger, high-end homes built between 2016 and 2019. Located off Mineral Springs with good access to I-20, the community has a total of 172 homes. Willow Creek Estates has a community pool, and HOA dues are $600 per year. In the past year, homes have sold from $420,000 to $635,000.

Saluda River Club

The award-winning Saluda River Club is a planned community with excellent access to I-26 and amenities that include 2 clubhouses, 2 pools, and riverfront access. It offers walking trails, planned social gatherings, and activities on the river including kayaking. Each neighborhood has a different style, and options include condominiums, Charleston style homes, farmhouse styles, townhome villas, cottages, and estate homes. Prices range from the low $350,000s to over $1,000,000. The best way to see this community is with an “in person” tour. It has been developed with unique charm and character and must be seen to be appreciated.

Whiteford

Whiteford is a large subdivision located in the heart of Lexington shopping areas. Built in the 1980s and 1990s, Whiteford offers numerous floor plans and spacious lots throughout the neighborhood. Two entrances off Highway 378 and N Lake Drive allow for easy access to either side of Lexington—towards the lake and to shopping and dining. Whiteford is one of the few neighborhoods zoned for River Bluff High School with an affordable homeowners association fee.

Prescott Glen

Not far from I-20 and Lexington, Prescott Glen offers mini subdivisions that include Arbors, Links, Manor, and Preserve. Ranging from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet, these D.R. Horton builds offer garages and spacious lots. Amenities include a community pool with a clubhouse and playground. School zoning is Lexington High School, Pleasant Hill Middle, and Elementary Schools.

Maple Grove

Just off Highway 1 with excellent access to I-20, Maple Grove is an established community with mature landscaping. Homes were built in the early 2000s. Maple Grove is in Lexington County School District One. In the past two years, the lowest-priced home sold for $205,000 and the highest for $325,000.

Pilgrim Point

Located off Pilgrim Church Road, Pilgrim Point is a gated lakefront community with custom-built brick homes. Owners enjoy deep water boat and lake access, cabanas, fire pits, boat storage, and low maintenance yard sizes. Prices range between $500,000 to over $1 million. Enjoy a short drive to Lexington shopping and dining, Lexington One Schools, and the Lake Murray Dam.

Secret Cove

Located off Yachting Road, Secret Cove features beautiful homes and some lakefront properties. The neighborhood includes a community boat ramp for lake access and boat storage. Prices range between $400,000 to $1 million.

Settler's Point at Lake Murray

Located off Pilgrim Church Road in Lexington, Settler’s Point offers community lake access and a boat ramp to its residents. One of the most affordable neighborhoods offering Lake Murray access, Settler’s Point prices range from $250,000 to $450,000.

Kenwood

Conveniently located near River Bluff High School, Kenwood offers large lots and wooded areas. Home prices start around $500,000 and are typically above 3,000 square feet.

Governor's Grant

Governor's Grant is one of the largest neighborhoods in Lexington. Amenities include a neighborhood pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, and playground. Prices range from the $400,000s to over $1 million. Homes in Governor's Grant are zoned for Lexington One schools.

Brighton Forest

In the Oak Grove area of Lexington, Brighton Forest was developed in the 1980s. It has smaller homes which are great for first-time home buyers. The houses range from 1,200 to 1,800 SF and the average price is $196,500. Brighton Forest has excellent access to I-20 and is desirable because of its location and schools.
